Found the product to be true to the advertizing. Took me perhaps 30 mins or so to wrap my 80-gal water heater (the instructions are easy to follow and everything is provided inc the sealing tape) Both my wife and myself agreed the very next day that the water seemed "hotter" and it didn't take "as long as usual" for it to come up to the shower on the 3rd floor It is hard to determine if there is any $$$$ saved and, chances are, I probably never will what with electric co raising rates constantly,, but it seems to do what i bought it for.

I've never used one of these before, but I just just moved into a house where the water heater is in a somewhat exposed basement. It took me a little figuring on how to install it, but once I got started, it was pretty easy. It's easy to cut if you need to and there is plenty of aluminum tape to cover every seam, even if you are a bit sloppy. It looks like a professional installed it. I am really happy with this! I have no doubt that it is doing the job as the hot water reaches the faucet sooner.

Seems like a good product and it was easy to install, however it does not completely cover my 80 gallon electric water heater. I have a 6" gap at the top.

We live at about 4400 elevation and it gets down to as low as 15 degrees in the dead of winter at night, the water heater is in an uninsulated garage, and our last one had a "blanket" on it, so we thought we would give this a try. Easy to install really, just measure and cut, but it really should be done with 2 people as it's hard to move around the water heater and keep in straight if you were doing it alone. Only installed today so will come back in a few weeks/months and update as to any change in our bill, but the install was simple as least!

I am SO GLAD I found this product. On my old house I used fiberglass to insulate my water tank and I was itching for DAYS. We recently moved so I wanted a product to use for my 80 gallon gas water tank and it went on SO EASY. Installation was SIMPLE. I am thinking of ordering one more so I can double it up. Cant hurt anything so why not.

I had to trim these insulators down to fit my smaller water heaters, but they helped with keeping the water hotter longer than any others I've used in the past. I can definitely recommend this product to help lower your water heating costs especially in winter.

We are very happy with this water heater blanket. It is high quality. It took a little time to install, but is well worth it. Shipped very fast and we would recommend.

Product will definitely fit a 40 gallon water heater without issues. My water heater though is located in the corner of my laundry room and actually getting the product to wrap around and stick the way it is shown was near to impossible. It is a mass of tape and insulation, but it still looks good and it does seem to insulate the tank better than nothing. Just take a look how much space you have around your water heater as the self adhesive lines on the insulating blankets make it difficult to wrap in tight spaces.

80 gallon RUUD tank - was short 2-3 inches of material ( taller as opposed to fatter)...called them and they immediately sent out more than plenty of additional material. It's three wraps and a top, not two like the instructions show. The material is folded over itself with adhesive (by you) and the adhesive can only hold as well as the foil does - the efficiency is in the 1/2" air gap you get when folding the outside in and over itself, not from just a smooth wrapping. If you change your water heater, and you use the adhesive to hold the foam to the tank, not just the aluminum tape to squeeze the folded material gently against the tank as I did, know this will shred and not be reuseable. Rather than cut away material over the access panels, i cout three sides to act like a door and taped....to later cut to open. This is prodex 1/4 inch double foil foam wrap pre-cut for you with aluminum tape....you do the rest. Insulating the top pipe fittings at least the first foot is a great idea as a lot of heat can be felt on the hot and even cold side after my tank has sat for several hours pre-insulation. -- iuyglIt was easy to install, but a little on the thin side. And since I have a 75 gallon heater I did run out of tape. -- John Hessenthaler Takes a little craftiness but does its job. Took about a half hour begining to end. Overall pleased, but i would have more aluminum tape on hand. -- Paul Turosky Jr "Shipping was faster than expected, it does as advertised though it fit my 80 gallon tank no problem with little fitment and effort and it helps keep the heat in the tank." -- Jimmy R. Seems like a good product and it was easy to install, however it does not completely cover my 80 gallon electric water heater. I have a 6" gap at the top. -- MG It was easy to install with two people. Looks nice with the shiny insulation blanket. Could of had more tape in the kit. Have not gotten the electric bill yet to see if it has made a difference but I think it will because of the heavy non fiberglass cover. -- mister Seems to work as expected. Don 't know about any savings on the electric bill yet. Will just have to wait and see on that. -- Lisa T It's a neat system and fairly easy to work with. I would recommend that the packaging include the square foot area available to work with. -- Caroline Bernard I've never used one of these before, but I just just moved into a house where the water heater is in a somewhat exposed basement. Takes 2 people for sure, especially if your water heaters are close to the wall like ours. We wrapped 2 electric water heaters in about 3 hours. Needed more tape to seal areas we had to cut around, but otherwise the project went well. Don't know yet if this has saved anything on our electric bill. -- PatB Just installed this on heater. It was very easy to put on, but two people would install quicker. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is I do not know if the product Is going to save me money on my electric bill as it states. I will give it two months and then let you know. It did arrive before the expected date I was told.
